"You’ve experienced Italian cuisine before, now experience Da Vincenzo’s Food & Wine Hall at The George Limerick. Ciao, my name is Vincenzo, welcome to my restaurant. "Coming in at number one is Cobblestone Joe’s, a bar and venue mere minutes from the Milk Market on Little Ellen Street. The locals that were asked to give their opinion on the best pizza in Limerick chose Cobblestone Joe’s in their droves. Their pizza is made by hand and cooked in a wood fire oven, which adds a unique flavour!"
"Renowned locally as one of the best restaurants in Adare, Timmy Macs Bistro in Adare is the ideal restaurant for a corporate or family gathering. Our menu features healthy food options created by our dietician and our Chef. Vegetarian and Authentic Irish dishes are available."
"A glance at the Ireland of old is on offer at this riverside, long-ruined castle. Adare Desmond is essentially a shell of the old structure, but there’s enough left to justify tours, and the buildings and their surrounds make for a fantastic slightly off-the-beaten-track exploration. There’s a sacred fairy ring just around the corner, and very little development visible from the sight, giving this a real sense of the Ireland of its 13th century construction."
"Just outside the town of Adare (which we recommend in its own right, see below) Adare Desmond Castle is a 13th-century riverside fortress, now in ruins, sat right next to an ancient ring fort. Regular tours during the summer give an insight into the spot’s revolutionary history while an exhibition gives a sense of life at the castle through the Middle Ages."
"Located beside the Limerick City Gallery of Art, People's Park is the most popular green space in Limerick. Dating from 1877, this is a tranquil oasis and the city's main park, a perfect spot to enjoy a picnic, bathe in the rare sunshine, or merely enjoy a wander in the fresh air. A large selection of mature deciduous and evergreen trees dot the park and, during the spring and summer, visitors can admire a wonderful display of flowers."
"In Newtown Pery, the People’s Park was imagined in the first decades of the 19th century as a grand Georgian place in the vein of Mountjoy Square in Dublin. But the development was curtailed by the Great Famine, and only one terrace of flat-fronted mansions was completed. The park was opened in 1877 and is the main parcel of greenery in the centre of the city."
"This beautiful wooded park in the heart of the Georgian city is an excellent place to take a breather while on a Limerick tour. A large selection of deciduous and evergreen trees characterize the landscape. From spring to late summer, you’ll find a beautiful floral display here."
"From the Castle I headed to the Milk Market which is open during the day on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. These markets are a real hub of the city and hold a lot of history seen as it was one of the markets that were opened in the mid to late 1800’s. These days the market is full of fresh, local produce more than likely direct from the producer. I loved the buzz of the market and it was great to see local day-to-day life in action!"
"One of Ireland’s finest farmers’ markets, the Milk Market is a dream for people who care about where their food comes from. The complex was refurbished in the 90s, and sits under a large canopy or “big top” which has become a stage for live music. The big market day is Saturday, when you can buy produce and delicacies from the people who rear, catch, grow or make them."
"Head to this quirky marketplace, a far cry from your regular shopping areas, and you’ll be greeted by an array of traditional, local stalls. You’ll find everything from handcrafts, to sustainable, fresh produce. The best time to see it come alive is the weekend."
"Food & Wine Hall on the city’s main street, O’Connell Street, located on the ground floor of The George Hotel, part of the Savoy Group collection, in the heart of Limerick city’s shopping and restaurant quarter, an original and inspirational new resource for food and wine lovers. Takeaway Coffee and Treats are available along with delicious lunches to go."
