"The Rock of Cashel is one of Ireland's most spectacular historic sites: a prominent green hill, banded with limestone outcrops, rising from a grassy plain and bristling with ancient fortifications. Sturdy walls circle an enclosure containing a complete round tower, a 13th-century Gothic cathedral and the finest 12th-century Romanesque chapel in Ireland, home to some of the land's oldest frescoes.It's a five-minute stroll from the town centre up to the Rock, from where fantastic views range over the Tipperary countryside."

"From Waterford, make a slight detour to the northwest in order to visit one of my favorite sites in Ireland: the Rock of Cashel. Located in County Tipperary, the Rock of Cashel is a hilltop complex that might be one of the more photogenic places I've visited in Ireland. The Rock of Cashel – also called St. Patrick's Rock – was the seat of the Kings of Munster until it was eventually handed over to the church after the Norman invasion. Today, the site consists of mostly ruins – but the ruins are super impressive."

"Cahir's awesome castle enjoys a river-island site with moat, massive walls, turrets and keep, mullioned windows, vast fireplaces and dungeons. Founded by Conor O'Brien in 1142, and passed to the Butler family in 1375, it's one of Ireland's largest castles. In 1599 the Earl of Essex shattered its walls with cannon fire, an event explained with a large model. With a huge set of antlers pinned to its white walls, the Banqueting Hall is an impressive sight; you can also climb the Keep."

"This fortified Augustinian monastery is the best sort of ruin, where you can amble around whenever you like, with no tour guides, set hours or fees. Most days you stand a chance of exploring the site alone (apart from some nosy sheep); at dusk with a clear sky the old priory is simply beautiful. The ruins are 500m east of Kells on the Stoneyford road; from the car park, head to the right of the walls to find the main entrance."

It serves Metalman beer but it also serves other beers from independent brewery’s, gins, whiskeys & other drinks too so it is fair to say that it satisfies all tastes.
