"A relatively new addition to Galway's pizza scene, Pizza Amore is the sister restaurant to Pizza Napoli. Honestly, I would make it a double whammy and hit up both, one after the other."
"Bringing a real authentic taste of Italy to Galway City, this spot is perfect for a top-class pizza evening. Address: 4 Cross Street Upper, Galway, H91 C6X2"
"I've been eating here for at least 18 years and the food is just as good today as it was then. They pride themselves on serving healthy, authentic Chinese cuisine. I would gladly eat only their fresh homemade noodles and dumplings for the rest of my life – so honestly, I can't stress enough: if you're in Galway don't leave without trying them."
"Okay, so, you might think this does not actually count, as KFC has always offered take-away and is a fast-food restaurant but my God they do the best fried chicken on the planet. I ordered a gluttonous amount of food from their Briarhill location recently and it was incredibly tasty and piping hot when I got it. If I am in the mood for something that is a little on the unhealthy side, but don’t feel like going the traditional route of Supermacs or McDonalds, KFC is always a fantastic option."

"Early risers will love this market on Church Lane, just off the main thoroughfare of Shop Street in the city centre. The weekend market has everything from delicious food and drink to handmade crafts and gifts. It has been taking place in the city for centuries and all the local traders have a story to tell."

"This artisan bakery offers a wide range of delicious treats ranging from tantalising tarts to enticing cakes, but they specialise in their delightful signature donuts. All their delicious goodies are made fresh each day, so come in early and get them while they're hot. After a long day, what can't be fixed by a delicious cup of coffee and a box filled with chocolate-covered custard-filled fluffy donut?"
"With six different locations, the Gourmet Tart Company is a Galway staple for sweets and takeout. However, it is the 70-seat café in Salthill that serves the most delectable breakfast. The full Irish—complete with rashers, Irish sausages, eggs, pudding, and fried potatoes—is legendary."
"The original structure of Quays Bar is over 400 years old and it still retains some of its own original features. The Quays Bar is a famous music venue in Galway which has two floors which play music every night and has played host to famous acts such as Aslan and Nathan Carter. The Quays is also famous for being the home of the television channel TG4’s country music competition called “Glor Tire” and is a popular spot for tourists as it is the perfect place to sample everything that is great about Irish culture."
"As far as historical interior decorating goes, The Quays Pub has pretty much got the ‘cool’ factor locked down. The outside of this Galway pub is quaint and colorful, painted cream and deep blue with red window panes and hanging flower baskets adorning the outer walls. The inside, however, gets cooler the further you go in."
"The unique and antique design of the pub is reminiscent of old taverns of medieval times. Located in the Latin Quarter, the pub is home to some of the best-crafted beers. And with its inlaid woods, stained glasses, and church pews, visitors will have a jolly time with the locals and enjoy their fresh and handcrafted ales."
"At the award-winning Kai Café + Restaurant, light streams through a generous roof-lantern into the rustic stone-and-wood dining room, giving a visceral sense of connection to the west coast’s rugged landscape, from where the ingredients for its dishes are sourced. With a focus on doing things simply, owners David and Jessica Murphy have created in Kai a food experience that is at once basic and innovative, unadorned and yet beautiful. Having recently joined the Sustainable Restaurant Association, their ethos is one of conscious symbiosis with their environment."
"Even ignoring the fact that I lived in New Zealand for 14 years in, I had to try out Kai. It was also popping up everywhere as a go-to for foodies in Galway. We visited for lunch and loved it but definitely need to get back for dinner too at some stage. The food was so fresh and delicious, the atmosphere was great and I loved all the little touches of Kiwiana around the restaurant, taking me back!"
