"Crew Brewing Company is the newest addition to Limerick’s growing craft beer scene, opening its doors in 2020. Crew is the brainchild of three friends (Gareth, Jono, and Joel) from Belfast who have a passion for beer, sustainability, and supporting local businesses. Brewing their own beers on-site, the guys at Crew back up their beliefs by featuring several other independent Irish craft beers."
"The mythical side of Irish life (which is still fairly widely loved, if perhaps seen locally as a little clichéd) is one of the great Irish experiences for many people. Terra Nova is a magical garden that contains an ancient fairy fort dating back thousands of years, though the addition of modern fairy statues and magical touches will probably entice most visitors. Atmospheric, to say the least."
"Limerick, winner of the Best Garden in Ireland, it is a magical day out for families and gardeners alike and is home to Ireland’s Largest Fairy Gift Shop."
"The original Knappogue Castle was constructed in the year 1467 by Sean Mac Conmara, who was the son of Sioda Mac Conmara; it is a large medieval tower house, that originally served the purpose of a watchtower during the midst of much military conflict. During the 19th century, like many castles in Europe and Ireland, Knappogue Castle was restored into the style of the Gothic and Medieval era, after being acquired by Theobald Fitzwalter Butler, 14th Baron Dunboyne, in the year 1855; they spent a large amount of time renovating and restoring the castle, whilst also adding several additions to it, such as the drawing-room, the long room, and a west wing. "The Treaty Stone symbolises the agreement between the Williamites and the Jacobites that ended the Williamite War. The truce did not last long, since there are some tensions lingering. The place can be very lovely to spend some time and learn some history regarding the place."
"From the Castle I headed to the Milk Market which is open during the day on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. These markets are a real hub of the city and hold a lot of history seen as it was one of the markets that were opened in the mid to late 1800’s. These days the market is full of fresh, local produce more than likely direct from the producer. I loved the buzz of the market and it was great to see local day-to-day life in action!"
"Here you’ll discover the very best of fresh, natural produce. From great farmhouse cheeses and chutneys, just-caught fish and artisan meats, organic fruit and vegetables, to delicious healthy breads and fresh-pressed juices. You will also be able to snack on gourmet sandwiches, wraps, pastries, chocolates, delicious crepes, soups and freshly brewed teas and coffees or buy fresh flowers and vibrant plants."
"Head to this quirky marketplace, a far cry from your regular shopping areas, and you’ll be greeted by an array of traditional, local stalls. You’ll find everything from handcrafts, to sustainable, fresh produce. The best time to see it come alive is the weekend."
